Anfield: The hallowed home ground of Liverpool FC

EDIT: (12th August)
Went through and made some minor changes:
:bulletred: Extra shadow work coming off the trusses on the stands to the top and left.
:bulletred: Listened to ~zachriel and fixed up the surface of the turf, no more ugly line work.

Now available as a print. :)
/EDIT

Well, it's done. Finally. This is my first larger pixel piece submitted to dA. It's also had the most extensive work of anything I've done. I initially started it around July/August 2003, with it sitting there and having occasional updates. In late September last year, I decided to restart it from scratch, building up to what I have done today. I'm quite proud of this.

--==::[ Details: ]::==--

To make this, I used various photos and images I found on google when I searched for Anfield. Because of the quality and size of the images, some of the outer details may not be completely accurate. I'm aware of these problems, and if I find the motivation in the future I might fix it up. Also, people who are quite familiar with Anfield will note that the trusses on the Kop and Centenary Stands are actually black. Here they are grey.

Done in Photoshop.

I hope everyone enjoys this. It's been a strenuous journal, but a thoroughly worthwhile one.

Cheers,
-Tom :horns:

Bet you haven’t seen a sweet field quite like this yet. Anfield by =budgieishere is pixeled at such a masterful level that it would make the home team fairly proud to call it its home. (And, yes, it’s modeled off of the real “Anfield” stadium! GOOOOOOAL!) (Suggested by ~ShinobiDragon and Featured by `halfliquid)

It's not the size that matters, but the DPI and the resolution.

Wow, you really took your time to make this, didn't you? Well done! :w00t:

Just one minor thing bothering me.. The running marks (?) on the grass.. They seem to be randomly just drawn, rather than carefully placed pixels.. Fix that and this'll be a :+fav: :giggle:

Yeah, the grass was done in around October, and I might actually go through and change some things on it. Very valid point. Cheers for the comment :#1:

Simply amazing pixel work. 'nuff said.

I have to disagree with the comment by ~ zachriel regarding the marks on the grass. They should be random since they were 'made' by players running about on the field.

very life like. I love it!
