[ Spontaneous Combustion Emote ]
Fullview is a MUST: Get rid of thumbnail shadow

Finally, it's done. A new, original emote. Beats me editing my other ones to form new ones.

I'm so very pumped with this. Just getting all the details first pixelled, then the animation process, was all very strenuous. But I'm very happy with the end result, and this is one of my favourite creations.

[ Details ]

Story goes, this dood is just sitting there. He senses something, raises his eyebrow and looks around. But alas, he can't see anything out of the ordinary. He passes it off, but only a second or two later he bursts into flames. Screaming, he stares at his hands, before frantically looking for something to put it out, before succumbing. The flames disappear just as quickly as they came on, with all that's left of him being a pile of ashes and a puff of smoke. Another emote dood comes along, and notices the pile of ash. Thinking it as odd, he grabs a broom and swiftly cleans up. Loop.

As I said before, was a bitch to make, but so rewarding. Kel, I left the flames as they were cause I felt the cartoony style suited it better. Plus, I wasn't going to re-pixel them. Jules, I followed your advice, and made the coming on of the flames quicker, and I think it's more effective.

And to all those who commented and favourited the flame tester. :thanks:

I hope you enjoy it. I'm very very happy with this.

Nice work.

The shading and colour is nice. I like the light sea green colour used, and the shading style. And, ofcourse the flames are great, nice colour used once again. But...maybe darken the mouth a tad, make it a darker red...or add a darker outline arpimd the mouth? The Clouds look nice...Rather cartoony though, were you intending for that? If no I'd suggest rethinking the shading for it...But I do like it now So I wouldn't bother with that. I do enjoy the detail you put into the dust and the brush, the shading is impressing for such a small item in the animation such as that.

The expressions, grand aswell. The startoff of that quisitive look....than boom, hes up in flames. The animation is so well done in the flames, comical on many levels, and excuted brilliantly, Than the poor emote sweeps away his formers dust. nice touch to loop it.

The animation, smoothm I fount no faults in it, and I did look hard. Looped well, expressed well, and what not.

As I said, this is a really nice addition to your gallery. With your last few entries, forgive me, being lacklusters and not really made with your full talent its good to see your back on the track (ofcourse , i've been guilty of this too, as you surely no...haha)

A few suggestions not concerning this emote in essence. I love how you did the animation as stated before, But there are other ways you could of pulled this off. You could of added a water element, such as a hydrant or a pool. Maybe, a stop drop and roll campaign. And ofcourse my favourite, have him wonder into a forrest, cause a forrest fire, and then have smokey the bear, protecter of the us and canadian woods to lay the smack down.

haha...I don't intended you to take that last statement seriously, just a little fun with the idea.

Once again nice work tom.

English has been nuked. :lmao:

With the clouds, I tried to keep them relatively simplistic so that I could do various ones and have them looking fairly smooth in their shrinkage. It's also kept the colours down, as I've been guilty in the past of using too many unnecessary shades :B

I'm with you with the lackluster efforts. I think that's what made me more enthusiastic and excited about finishing this one, it's something new and original which I've put my full effort into. The last few have been quick, cheap things which just kinda update my page

Some lovely suggestions there. Fuckin' big smile on my face over the forest fire one :#1:

We so need to do comic strip style emotes. That would be so much fun to make.

Cheers for the lovely comment Bryan. You never disappoint, and you always give me a different perspective and opinion on my work. I'm very very grateful :thanks:

Oh, goodness! :lmao: Poor little guy! You certainly should be so very proud of yourself. I'm always impressed with the majority of the emoticons that make it to the front page... but sometimes I come across one that has so much life and personality to it that I just can't help myself in commenting. You really did a fantastic job with the animation and little details in the fire. I'd love to see this on the official dA emote list one day. :highfive:
