_//Idea:

This is one that has been floating around for a couple of months. I remember initially starting one ages ago, and gave up pretty quickly cause the idea was getting nowhere. Anyway I decided to revisit this a couple of days ago, and restarted everything from scratch. This gave me a bit more fluidness in the production.

_//Description:

The Knight is standing there, situated around the outskirts of the battle fields. His visor isn't the best to see out, so he lifts it up for a quick peek around, then pops it back down. Shaking his fist about to charge into battle, he hears arrows being fired, and covers himself up with his shield. He takes a couple of quick swipes, making sure everyone is out of the way, before he loops and takes a peek again.

_//Side notes:

Thanks to *scoota269 and *SinOfDreams in little pointers they talked about when I showed them a mock up. Scott asked to make the sword longer and add a design on the shield, both of which I added, while Dan wanted the swishing of the sword. Thanks also goes out to * lady-maree :heart: for her initial feedback and continual support :love:.

_//Additional:

One more thing, if anyone can pick the logo on the shield, I will happily give them some exposure in my journal for all to see.

Yeah this is sweet, Tom! It's different and it's well done. The fact there is something on the shield is really cool, but I can't see what it is. Doesn't look like much to me :giggle: But most people said it looks like the triple J logo and I can't see it :lol: Oh well. Nice job. An idea well executed, as always. Now, if you ever get time, I'll pay you with cookies to make a :nyssi-lick: emote for Zeta :giggle:

this looks great, and the animation is quite long too :nod: I like it, everything looks fitting and smoth :nod:
the only thing I'd change is to maybe add an outline to the head.

You mean like a black line around the outside of the knight's helmet? Currently that is something I'm trying to move away from, it's a style which makes the border just a darker sense of the actual body of the emote. I feel in a way it looks a bit more natural, as the stark black border made it look a little...how can I put it...artificial.

I know what you mean, I am trying to get away from outlines in my paintings too. but outlines can be a good decision if you have small things that need to be recognized well... like an emote =) when you look at the smile emote it has an outline too and still looks good. :nod:
the knight looks cool though, will it be included in the emote list?

Yeah I know, initially all my emotes had that outline. But lately I've found that they look a bit cleaner and smoother with a more "organic" outline that fits in nicely with the rest of the emote.

Most probably not, the emote list hasn't been updated for a long time and it's at the bottom of Eric's to-do list. That's not my aim though, I make them for amusement :giggle:

Well Eric :dygel: used to take suggestions for additions to the legend. But since his role on dA has stepped up a few notches, he has other priorities at the moment.

I don't know if he's going to give control of that section to another admin, but I do know that they were working on a new layout for the legend, designed initially by `hprince329, and that no new ones will be added until that is implemented. Also I remember him saying somewhere that any suggestions up until that time will be disregarded.
