I'm home. It was sad to come home but even more so to what I've come home to.

I'm sure those in Australia, especially around Victoria will no doubt know of the devastation and tragedy that has been caused by the immense bushfires that have raged and are still viciously raging across the state. Flying in yesterday I could see the amount of smoke and knew that it had been a bad day but I didn't realise until I spoke to Dad just how bad it was. As I write this there are 76 confirmed dead and over 700 homes lost. The worst day in the state's history. And these are only the preliminaries, there is doubtless more horrifying news to come. Personally, my family and I are very lucky that there are no immediate threats to our own safety or the region, and that one family friend living in Kilmore lives on the opposite side of town to the fire front.
My thoughts especially are out with those affected by the fires, from the families and friends who have lost people, the people who have lost all possessions, to the brave men and women - some of which are old mates of mine from around the surrounding areas - from the CFA, DSE and more who risk their lives to save others.
For those that can, I implore you to donate what you can, from clothes, food, toys to money. To those who have lost everything, anything helps.
